In the past Where did humans tend to settle and Why?

Certain places affect people and the way they lived. Topography is an important thing to look at. In the past people would like to live in an area with many rivers for water and transportation. Also they would like to live in an area with more fertile land for farmers. Also people would rather live in areas with mountains. Climate also affects life of the people in the past. The people in the past more tended to settle in areas where the climate is mild- warmer in the winter and colder in the summer. In the past the choice of where people is influenced by the lad scape and weather of the land. The first place where humans settled was developed in places where the climate and topography made farming possible. If the environment doesn't suit them, they would modify it and make the environment suitable for them, or move to another place. There are 3 types of movements.
1. Temporary
2. Periodic
3. Migration

  1. I liked how you went into depth with topography and climate and gave several examples. Also you talked about specifically where it was good to settle.
