Stonehenge

Do you know the Stonehenge, well if you do, you might, or might not know the theories of stone henge. There are many theories that archeologists came up with, but I will just tell you 3.

1.A man named Mike Parker Pearson of the University of Sheffield. He believes that Stonehenge was above all a place for the dead, while a similar monument built of wooden pillars called the Woodhenge, was a place for the living. A place where each stone stands for a dead body buried in front of it. Kind of like our grave yards.

2.Another theory is that  Stonehenge was used as a "prehistoric Lourdes" where people came to be healed from many sicknesses. This idea was made because of the small bluestones, which researchers argue about, must have had magical powers for them to be able to float, drag, and haul 145 miles from west Wales. A team lead by Tim Darvill of Bournemouth University, U.K., said in 2005 that it had located the quarry the bluestones came from, only for another study to suggest the stones had made the journey earlier, powered naturally by ice age glaciers.

3. The last theory I will mansion is Stonehenge could have been used to show the movements of the moon. Lionel Syms of the University of East London has planned that the building of Stonehenge marked a basic shift in society from hunting to agriculture, which matched with a shift from lunar to solar worship. By joining observations of the sun and moon, our ancestors could have been showing that they were part of the same religious force.
